The Secret Fat Burner – An Honest Review

Here is an honest review based on my own experiences using the secret fat burner and how it worked for me.

First we will start with the function and content of the capsules to help give you a better understanding of the product and what it promises and what my experiences were while using them so that you can make an informed decision on whether you would like to use this product or not. Here is the product info as per the insert leaflet:

Maintenance:

Drink 1 capsule every second day. Important: Drink 1-2L of water per day (*this really is important to avoid the risk of dehydration)

The secret fat burner is a fat burner & appetite suppressor, combines well with a ketogenic diet, helps to keep the weight off, helps to target belly fat.

How do I use this product?

Drink 1 capsule first thing every morning on an empty stomach. Take for 5 consecutive days and then skip 2 days and repeat again.

Not suitable if:

Pregnant / Breast feeding / on antidepressants / Thyroid problems / High Blood pressure (*all due to possible side effects of having an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients)

Composition:

L-Carnitine

If you are looking to get lean, then this is the amino acid you need. L-carnitine transfers long-chain fatty acids, such as triglycerides into mitochondria, where they may be oxidized to produce energy. Carnitine has also been shown to reduce fatigue and serve as an appetite suppressant as well. Therefore, L-carnitine would be a major asset to have in your arsenal when you are dieting.

Yerba Mate

A stimulant with an ingredient known as mateine, which is similar to caffeine, minus the side effects.  The mateine in yerba mate helps to speed up your metabolism and increase your energy, burning fat in the process.  Yerba mate also has a relaxing effect that can calm your emotions and make you less prone to fall into stress eating.

Bitter Orange Extract

This may aid in burning calories.  It has been found to be one of the best weight loss supplements available. Increases energy levels and may assist in the treatment of headaches, insomnia, indigestion, gastrointestinal disorders and controlling anxiety.

Chromium

A weight loss aid; claims that this supplement can melt fat, drastically reduce appetite, and increase metabolism are rampant and account for the popularity of chromium picolinate in our diet-obsessed culture.

Cassia Seed

Cassia seed is employed as a laxative to treat constipation.  There is also evidence that it helps to reduce blood pressure and it could be used as an anti-inflammatory.  The seeds remove intense heat from the liver, promotes liver function and stimulates bowel movement, there for aiding in constipation.

Guarana

Natural appetite suppressant, reduces the desire to eat.  Promotes weight loss and activates the fat burning process, combats diarrhea, bloating and digestive problems.

Raspberry Ketones

Raspberry ketones aid in causing the fat within cells to be broken down more effectively, helping the body burn fat faster. They also increase levels of adiponectin, a hormone that helps to regulate the metabolism.

Green Tea Extract

In order to burn fat, it must first be broken down in the fat cell and moved into the bloodstream. The active compounds in green tea can aid in this process by boosting the effects of some fat burning hormones. The main antioxidant in tea, EGCG, can help inhibit an enzyme that breaks down the hormone norepinephrine. When this enzyme is inhibited, the amount of norepinephrine increases. This hormone is used by the nervous system as a signal to the fat cells, telling them to break down fat..

Dietary fiber

Enhances weight loss among obese people, likely because fiber increases feelings of fullness. May help to slow down your body’s breakdown of carbohydrates and the absorption of sugar, helping with blood sugar control. Research shows that those eating a high-fiber diet have a 40 percent lower risk of heart disease, Researchers have found that for every seven-grams more fiber you consume on a daily basis, your stroke risk is decreased by 7 percent. May help move yeast and fungus out of your body, preventing them from being excreted through your skin where they could trigger acne or rashes, may reduce your risk of diverticulitis – an inflammation of polyps in your intestine – by 40 percent,  may reduce the risk of gallstones and kidney stones, likely because of its ability to help regulate blood sugar.

Evening primrose

Evening primrose oil contains “fatty acids.” Some women with breast pain might not have high enough levels of certain ”fatty acids” Fatty acids also seem to help decrease inflammation related to conditions such as arthritis and eczema. Some people use evening primrose oil for chronic fatigue syndrome; asthma; nerve damage related to diabetes; an itching disorder called neurodermatitis; hyperactivity in children and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); obesity and weight loss; whooping cough; and gastrointestinal disorders including ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome and peptic ulcer disease.

Starch

Dextrose is a simple sugar that is chemically identical to glucose, or blood sugar. It may be prescribed when a person is dehydrated or has low blood sugar. (*also acting as a “filler”)

SIDE EFFECTS:

You may suffer from detoxification symptoms as your body expels toxins. This is perfectly normal.

Unmentioned side effects from unmentioned ingredients

(*note these side effects are associated with being allergic to the ingredient):

Aloe (Note that these are symptoms of being allergic to aloe) – abdominal cramping, allergic skin reaction, constipation, dehydration, dependency if used as a laxative, delayed wound healing, diarrhea, electrolyte imbalance,  excess bleeding, hardening of the skin, Henoch-Schönlein purpura (purple spots on the skin), hepatitis, hives, increased risk of colorectal cancer, increased risk of irregular heartbeat, kidney failure, liver toxicity, low potassium in the blood, muscle weakness, redness of the skin and eyelids, skin dryness, skin inflammation from sun exposure, soreness, splitting of the skin, stinging, stomach discomfort, thyroid dysfunction, urinary stone, uterine contractions, and widespread inflammation of the skin.

Pros & Cons

Pros
(Based on my own experience )

Loads of energy, a clear mind, longer endurance to exercise ( I was exercising 3 hours a day!), appetite control (I am usually hungry every 2 hours, in this case I was never hungry at any point but still stuck to 3 square meals a day to ensure the process remains safe and healthy), increased need to drink water (I was thirsty ALL THE TIME which is a pro as well as a con but drinking loads of water is never bad in my opinion), rapid weight loss, satiety – thus reducing my usual portion sizes (I ate half of what I usually do and it was more than enough), easy to use (one capsule a day)

Cons
(Again, based on my own experience. No two people are the same)

Reflection:

Based on my client’s experiences and my own, this product is user friendly, is of high quality and suitable for anyone. I went from 75kg to 71.6kg in just 5 days and I currently have my 7 year old son on it – (Please note that as with any form of supplementation it is always advised to check with your GP beforehand, I got the green light from our family doctor before giving it to my boy) He has lost 5kg in 2 weeks on half a capsule a day!

Here are some testimonials from very loyal clients and their experience on the product:

Heila de Goede Age 39

“I was always scared of trying new things until I heard about “The Secret Fat Burner”…In just 4 weeks I have lost 9kgs in weight. The best part is that not only have I lost weight but also in centimeters. I feel and look great! A New Me is a Happy Me!!”

Paula Venter Age ??

“I’ve been having a weight problem for some time I couldn’t lose any weight, my weight kept rising like each day. I was surfing in the internet I then heard about Lilly Fit2u traveling trainer I had then seen the secret fat burner I already knew this sounds good. Contacted Lilly, made arrangements to see her I just needed a boost. I had lost 5.5kg within 3 weeks. I highly recommend Lilly.”

Conclusion:

The product has its pros, as well as cons. In my unbiased opinion, the pros greatly outweigh the cons. The mild discomfort for the first few days are quickly forgotten when experiencing the results that this product provides. This product is greatly underestimated, as it would naturally be as there are many products that promise to deliver only to leave us disappointed and feeling hopeless. I like this product because it is homeopathic and has no harsh ingredients in that can potentially harm your body in the process of trying to lose weight.

I do feel like it should not be underestimated though, even though it is a natural product, it can be dangerous and cause problems amongst people who are weight obsessed and should NEVER be used just to keep you from eating anything at all. I know to some, not eating at all can be viewed as an appealing way to shed those extra kilos fast, but trust me, nothing good will come of starving your body of nutrients it needs to function, the capsules provide weight loss at a more than decent pace and extreme measures are not necessary. Which is why I recommend getting the green light from your GP first.

Based on my overall experience, this product gets a 4 out of 5 (losing one point purely because of the discomfort experienced in my first 3 days of using it) It is completely worth the price as it delivers what it promises and at a rapid pace too. I am more than happy to spend R590 for 6 weeks of real weight loss, that’s less than R100 a week for REAL results. In my opinion that cannot be beaten or has not yet been matched. So there is definite value for money and is a great booster if wanting to be a healthier, slimmer version of yourself. I recommend it for almost all ages, unless you are unfortunate enough to have an allergy to one of the listed ingredients, this product is for you.

Lilly Bezuidenhout

As a single mother at 21 who weighed 134kg, at the age of 25 I finally decided to take control of my weight and my life. This led me down the road to health. It was a long, confusing journey that proved to be quite challenging with no help, knowledge or support system for that matter.
After a lot of research, dedication and hard work, I lost a whopping 60kg! It was then that I decided this gift of health and well-being was one that needed to be shared.
In order to share my knowledge and experience with others struggling to become healthy or lose weight, I took the leap and enrolled at a fitness school to become a personal trainer. To date I am a qualified personal trainer, sports nutritionist, child nutritionist and mesotherapist and the journey to knowledge has only just begun.
Someone once said: “You give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. You teach him how to fish and you give him a skill that will feed him for a lifetime.” Health and wellness is not a fish, it’s the skill set to be a fisherman. Well today, I want to give you the proverbial fishing rod to your health and well-being.

The reason why weight is lost is because of the diuretic effect…its water weight only. This product caused the WORST constipation that I have ever experienced !

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

I feel your frustration, HOWEVER…. Although the caffeine content does assist in shedding excess water, the sole function of this product is NOT just to “shed water weight” and they DO work.If you refer to the side effects I had listed, you will see that one of the side effects of Aloe is constipation. You are just unfortunate enough to be one in very few who are sensitive to one (or more) of the ingredients. The warning was there and all information supplied for you to make an informed decision on whether you want to consume the fat burners or not. No two bodies are the same and will not respond to the product in the same manner, which is why trial packs are made available for people to try the product for any allergies and/or side effects. I’m sorry about your experience and I appreciate your feedback on the product. These things are relevant and people should know that every single person will have a different experience, it could be better than our experiences, but it could also be worse.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi there, Although water is great for your digestion, health etc. Be careful not to over hydrate. believe it or not, it is possible to drink too much water. Drinking a lot of water increases the amount of water in your blood and can dilute the electrolytes in your blood, especially sodium. The kidneys are capable of excreting up to 28 liters of fluid per day. However, they cannot excrete more than 1 liter per hour. Are you consuming Natural diuretics eg. Celery, coffee etc? It might just be excess water, but there could of course be many factors that can be responsible. The solution could lie within your diet, your daily habits, your sleep pattern, your activity factor, your stress levels, the list goes on. Would need to go into detail to identify the problem and correct it. As far as the weight gain goes, there can also be many reasons. It is possible your body has built resistance against the product, but that also depends on how long you have been taking them. For now I would advise taking a break from them and following the rule of your body – it’s not about the quantity of the food, but the quality. Eat good, nutrient dense, quality foods and you’re on the best path. Before you eat anything ask yourself if that food item will provide nutrients to your body, will you feel good after eating it and is it low in added sugars? If the answer is no to any of these questions, it’s probably not good for you or your goals.

  3. Laetitia

I have been using this product for four months and have lost 17 kg.I love it.I have loads of energy and feel great.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

That’s great news! I’m so glad the product has worked well for you. You should be very proud of yourself for such an amazing result!! Keep up the good work, I’m sure you look as amazing as you feel

  4. Joelene

Hi, is it safe to buy from a pharmacy or do I have to buy from an agent? Is the ones in the pharmacy fakes or not?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Joelene, agents are not limited to individuals, the product can be supplied by businesses as well. The best way to tell is by the packaging. The original product now comes in a flat, twist cap bottle embossed with the logo as well as “The Secret Original” on it. The bottle itself is also embossed with “the secret” down the one side and “original” at the base of the bottle. Hope this helps

  5. C swart

Hi ive just started drinking the secret. Do i have to follow a specific diet to lose weight

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Charmaine, Although a lot of people have had success without any special diets or exercise plans, I would always suggest eating healthy and keeping active. Not only will it provide greater results, but will improve your health and well being as a whole

    2. Kim van der merwe

I have been taking the diet tablet for two weeks have not lost anything not even 1kg. What could be the problem please help feeling very depressed now

      1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

I’m afraid that the only way to find a solution to a problem like slow or no weight loss is to do some investigating as it could be many factors. for example it could be stress, diet (not necessarily eating too much but also eating too little) sleep hygiene and quality of sleep, hormonal imbalances, sensitivity to an ingredient in the product. the list goes on. The stagnant weight is not the problem, the underlying problem is what could be causing the stagnant weight. I would suggest starting your investigation with these points and doing some research to get to the source of the problem.

Can the Secret be used while on Birth Control?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi there, I have used them without any problems regarding my birth control, but bodies are weird and wonderful things so it is always best to confirm with your GP when uncertain.

  7. Stacey

Hi there, my son is turning 17 in August this year, he is a very tall, almost 6 in height, very physically mature boy for his age, can pass as 19years old, weighs 90kg’s where the doctor said he should be about 75kgs. His problem is his stomach. Can I safely give him these tablets? He struggles with eating low carb and has a sweet tooth so a regular diet is not working out, I’ve tried.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi there, Absolutely. My son is 7 turning 8 soon and my GP has deemed it safe. A low carb diet is probably not the best for a growing man (yes he is not a boy for much longer) anyway, carbohydrates are not the enemy and when used correctly it can give optimal weight loss results. I’m going to ask you to email me so we can communicate directly and I will help your son at no charge. I became a personal trainer to change the health status of our youth to ensure a bright, healthy future for them. I will provide a special meal plan catered to only him and will offer guidance and advice to help him get to where he wants to be. At the end of the day our weight just indicates our relationship with gravity it, is just a number and has no real value when determining our health. We will look at overall health and the amount of muscle mass and body fat he has. Unfortunately our health departments rely on very dated methods when it comes to body composition. When I picture your son’s height, age, etc. I picture him weighing at least 90kg. Not because he will be fat, but pure muscle mass with a healthy body fat percentage. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you and your son on his journey

  8. Stacey

Thank you so so much! I appreciate you! I will be in contact right after I post this comment! :-)))

  9. Sandra

Hi I have rheumatoid arthritis I eat well and go to the gym sometimes, I tried the product and didn’t loose weight at all while watching loose weight
The medication I’m taking is methotraxate, prednisone, arava to control the inflammation

Do you think the medication I’m taking hindersy weight loss?

    Sandra
    Kemptompark

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

I would like to start by say that I am not a doctor and cannot give you advice over your own GP, but I absolutely think it could be your medication, Firstly Methotrexate is an antimetabolite. An antimetabolite is a chemical that inhibits the use of a metabolite, which is another chemical that is part of normal metabolism. Secondly, Prednisone is a corticosteroid, which is any of a group of steroid hormones produced in the adrenal cortex or made synthetically. It is a steroid. I am not particularly familiar with Arava but have done minimal research and it warns against combining this medication with cancer medication or steroids, both of which you are combining it with. (Methotrexate has been recorded in the use of treating cancer too). My advice would be to voice your concerns to your GP and work at finding a solution that suits you and your medical needs. Unfortunately combining a medication that slows metabolism along with a steroid, will prove losing weight to seem almost impossible even with the fat burners. I’m sorry I could not have been of more help, but at least you have a starting point now. I hope this helps and don’t give up. Anything worth having is never easy and if it’s easy, is it really worth having?

  10. Miets

Were can I buy it in East Londen

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi there, Would just like to confirm East London, South Africa? Or East of London U.K?

  11. Abigail

I just started with the product. Currently on day 3 today. I must say I haven’t had any side effects and so far so good. I currently weigh 82,4kg and I need to loose 22,4kg. I’m excited about the journey I ve tried about all sorts of diets out there. Ive bn eating balanced 3 meals a day. Am I allowed a glass of wine every now and then?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Abigail, ABSOLUTELY! One thing you need to remember about weight loss is that it should NEVER feel like a punishment for how much you weigh. It will never last this way. Losing weight should be something you want to do to feel good about yourself and can we honestly feel good about ourselves if we feel restricted and deprived? If you really want a glass of wine, you should have it. Moderation is key, Delicious foods and drinks are there for us to experience in life and no one will feel like they are experiencing life when their friends are eating death by chocolate cakes in front of us while we hate on our plate of salad. A glass of wine every now and again will not make you gain weight. Just keep in mind Alcohol, whenever taken in, is the first fuel to burn. While that’s going on, your body will not burn fat. This does not stop the weight loss, it simply delays it since the alcohol does not store as glycogen, and you immediately go back into ketosis/lipolysis after the alcohol is used up. If you are that concerned about your health, I would suggest dry wine (red especially) It is loaded with antioxidants and releases endorphins that make us feel good. That way there is a balance, It might put your weight loss on hold for a day or two but you will at least still reap benefits from it, making it not such a bad “cheat” 😉

      1. Paul

        Are u an agent ?

          1. Katt

Hi Lily. Your post says the product has been discontinued yet there’s a site “live.life.lean” that claims to be selling.the product for 640R. Is this counterfeit?

          2. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Katt, it is quite possible that it could be the original. Many stockists bought large quantities when they heard the product would be discontinued. They might still be getting rid of that bulk of stock, although I cannot say for certain.

  12. Sonet

    Hi Lilly
    Thank you for your post.
Although the product indicates that it should not be used when one is on anti-depressants, some say that it is ok.
I am sceptic to try and then I sit with a major problem.
Why is it that it shouldn’t be used with anti-depressants? Will it work against it or is it simply symptom related?
I am currently using Welbutrin and Cilift.
    Regards
    Sonet

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Sonet, It does ADVISE not to take them while on these medications. The reason for this is that certain ingredients in the fat burners (main culprit usually being the primrose) will clash with certain ingredients in our medication. So to avoid the fat burners from possibly making your medication ineffective it is always advised that you consult your GP to be sure that none of the ingredients will clash with your medication. It’s a case of better safe than sorry. If your GP is confident that your medication will work fine in conjunction with the fat burners, then it should be safe to take. My mother is currently on wellbutrin and has used the fat burners without any problems, you would have to confirm the effect on the Cilift just to be safe. Hope this helped 🙂

      1. Zeenat

        Hi…
see that it says u should not take this product if u have thyroid issues.
De said my thyroid is on boarder line. It’s not functioning well. But not bad.
Is this still not fine for me?

        1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Zeenat, I would suggest getting the go-ahead from your GP first

  13. Sali

    Hi Lilly.

I would like to try tge pills and have had migranes previously so would like to know if the caffeine content in the pills will not cause the migranes again.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hello there 🙂 I think if you are sensitive to caffeine (which you most likely might be if you are prone to migraines) there is a great chance that it might trigger your migraines I’m afraid. The decision is purely yours at this point. If you would really like to try, I would suggest asking your agent if they have trial packs available (some do offer them for purchase but not everyone). That way you are not committing to the full price of the product which would result in a loss if they do end up causing migraines. Also keep a migraine cocktail on hand in your medical kit at home just in case.

      1. Leandre

Hi i have been on the secret for a month and only lost 1.4kgs i was 68.8 and now 64.4kgs can you advise why the slow loss and i never had any cellulite and now i have alooooooooot on my thighs and bums

  14. Leandre

Hi i have been on the secret for a month and only lost 1.4kgs i was 68.8 and now 64.4kgs can you advise why the slow loss and i never had any cellulite and now i have alooooooooot on my thighs and bums

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Simone, Kindly read through my comments on the people having weight loss issues. Unfortunately there are just too many possibilities when a culprit has to be pin pointed here. As for the cellulite as well. I would start by keeping track of any dietary changes or newly developed habits and work from there. Sorry I could not be of more help on this one 🙁

  15. Demi

    Hi there.
I’m on concerta , will this tablet interfere with the concerta

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi there, I am not familiar with concerta and its reactions/counter reactions I’m afraid. I would advise that you consult your GP just to be safe.

      1. Demi

        hi there
thank you so much for your response
i started taking the tablets today, really excited
should i be drinking two or three litres of water a day, ive been told differently. just dont wanna only drink 2 litres a day and then dont loose weight cause im not drinking enough water
also, i am currently attempting to stick to a low card high protein diet, is this okay, or should i be having cards, like oats and sweet potatoes.

sorry for all the questions 🙂 just want to do this right

        1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi There, The rule of thumb I like to go by is the 1/10 rule. drink at least one 250ml glass of water per 10kg of body weight. So If you weight 60kg, you will need to drink a minimum of 6 glasses of water per day, this is of course just a guideline to ensure you do not face dehydration. Do not drink more than 1L in an hour as the kidneys are only capable of excreting one liter of liquid per hour, including coffees, teas, etc. As for the low carb diet, it honestly depends, I find it works much better for people who have a lot of weight to lose. The diet is most efficient when you need to lose 10, 20, 30kg or more. If you are only 4 or 5 kg away from your ideal weight I would recommend having your Complex carbohydrates like sweet potato and oats. It will benefit your energy levels and carbohydrates are not the enemy when used correctly and correct portions are measured. It all comes down to comfort. Will a low carb diet work for you on an emotional level? (It’s emotionally draining to crave foods and have them under your nose when with friends and family) No “diet” will ever last if you feel punished or deprived. The low carb diet can really work if you have the money to spend. There are hundreds of recipes for cakes, sweets, pies and other things like pastas etc. But the ingredients to make these things are highly priced. Do some research on low carb, sugar free recipes and decide from there. Also be aware that low carb is not just that simple. You need to be careful of hidden sugars as a low carb diet means no sugar. That means monitoring medications as most have added sugars (especially things like cough syrup and effervescents) checking the nutrition labels of everything, Calculating net carbs through quantity of fiber. Its quite an intricate process and a lot to keep track of if you want to do it correctly.

  16. M

Can i use this product while breastfeeding my 13 month old?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi there, I would not recommend it. Although the product is all natural, the nature of the product does not seem suited for babies. They are still growing and need all the calories they get for development and growth, so I feel like a fat burner would not be suitable and could result in an unhealthy weight I’m afraid. Their little bodies would not be able to handle the doses that are required for an adult to see results. For now just eat healthy, nutrient dense foods, continue breastfeeding as this aids weight loss and keep as active as possible, which should not be a problem for a new mommy 🙂

  17. Bart

    Good day,

I try to gain some muscle and workout 6 days a week, however my belly and love handles seems to be a problem without the correct diet, i did use the secret previously and lost fat where i needed to. Will I loose muscle weight and size when
I start use the secret now

    thank you

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi, Whether you lose muscle mass or not depends solely on your calories consumed vs calories burned as well as the type of training you do. If you consume enough calories and enough protein to sustain muscle mass, you should lose very little, if any. Assuming of course that you use the correct workout plan for your goals and eat according to your goals. I would suggest getting a trainer to work out a program for you or doing extensive research on how to eat and train to preserve muscle mass. Hope this helped 🙂

  18. Anel

    Lilly,
My Fiance has now been using the product for 5 days and he drinks between 2 and 3 litres of water, eats 3 high proteien meals and goes to gym in the morning for an hour. He has gained 2,5 kg’s and is now very worried. Any idea what the cause of this could be? He was so excited, as everyone looses weight in the first week and he has now gained..

Hi Anel. There is absolutely no cause for alarm. He has simply dropped body fat and gained muscle mass, which does not come as a surprise. In a very short version of the nutshell, high protein meals (which promote muscle growth and regeneration) combined with workouts (which cause micro tears in the muscle that heal and cause the muscle to strengthen and grow as well as burn body fat, the degree depends on the type of workouts) I suggest he keeps track of his body fat percentage. This is the most accurate method that is readily available and cost effective. The scale does nothing except tell us what our total mass is. It does not take into consideration how much of that mass is bone, how much is water, how much fat etc. Have your husband approach his gym about body assessments so that he can keep track of the percentage of fat he is losing. Otherwise just let him keep track of his body changes. I hope this puts his mind at ease

  19. Anel

    HI Lilly,
The thing is, he has been doing the same amount of gym that he has been doing before starting to use the tablets, so not building more muscle than before, so should he loose weight if he does everything the same , and then drink the tablets additionally? I do understand the muscle gain versus fat loss situation, but it does not make sense to me that he is keeping on gaining weight while doing same amount of excersize and meals, but no weight loss.. He wants to see a difference on the scale..as he does not want to keep on buying bigger clothes because of the weight gain, not in muscle..
    Please help.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

I’m afraid the possible causes would prove a challenge to determine without proper investigation. There are many factors to consider and a lot of detailed information is needed to get to the bottom of a problem like this. I would recommend hiring a P.T at his local gym or seeing his GP for further investigation

  20. Ferreira Lizelle

Hi. I started to use this product last year march. It did work grwat and I lost 10kg in short time. Im still using it to maintain. I do not get the same results anymore. Can my body be immune against The secret fatburner if so what must I do?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

It could very likely be the case. Our bodies are designed to adapt and adjust and naturally when it becomes used to receiving something it will eventually not produce the same results as to when the fat burners were introduced as a “foreign body”. I would suggest taking a break from it as well as doing a cleanse or detox (Cleansing or detoxing does not mean starve yourself or just live on juice) and then try them again 🙂

  21. Ferreira Lizelle

How long detox do you suggest?

  22. Clare Peterson

    Hi Lilly,

I started using “The Secret” a month ago… I am very impressed with the weight loss, however I am now on my second bottle. I only use it from Monday to Friday. I had a night where I had serious heart palpitations and anxiety, it almost felt like I was going to have a heart attack or a stroke or something. Is this normal? Can these pills cause heart attracts. Have anyone ever died from using this specific fat burner. I really would like to continue using these pill for weight loss, but I am now a bit scared after the heart palpitations. Your advise would be appreciated. Thank you.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Clare, I am sorry to hear about your experience. What you described to me sounds very much like what I feel like when I have anxiety attacks. Even though anxiety attacks are emotional/mental phenomena, it does feel a lot like you are having a heart attack or like you are going to die, I literally fear for my life when having an anxiety attack. My heart beats out my chest, I cannot breathe and when I do, it feels like my lungs cannot take in enough air, leaving me feeling like I am suffocating. The addition of caffeine and guarana in the product, which are both stimulants, will not help the situation either, especially if you are sensitive to caffeine I am afraid. Do you have a history of anxiety? Are you feeling particularly stressed or overwhelmed lately? Have you suffered a loss of any kind? I would suggest breaking the capsule open and taking half on days when you are feeling anxious and to remember not to take it after 10am as it will hinder your sleep, this way any effects that might occur would have worn off by bed time. I also suggest that you see your GP and explain to him what you have just explained to me and have a look at the possibility of anxiety or even depression. I have never heard of any recorded deaths related to the product, but if you are worried that it may be the pills (or an ingredient in the pills) I would suggest that you refrain from using them until you and your GP can establish what the cause of your attack was.

  23. Trudie Allan

Hi Lilly, I have entered the menopausal stage of life and battles to loose wait, will this product help in and keep the weight of in the long-term?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Trudie, I am not as experienced in this phase of life as I would like to be, but my mother has successfully lost weight without any trouble. Each individual responds and/or reacts differently so I would suggest you trying a trial pack to test the waters.

  24. Petro

    Hi Lilly
Im interested but is sceptical about it. Is there a way to speak to you in private please.
    Tnx

  25. Manny

Hi. I have tried the secret and it worked well in helping me drop the weight. Once I’ve stopped I’ve gained it back. Does it mean I should live on it like 1a week to sustain weight loss forever?, also find it very difficult to be on.. Causes me to be extremely irratable, moody and experience anxious and like I’m dreamy all day. Want to start again but afraid of my mood changes especially at work as I work closely with people. Any advice to help with that? You mentioned above to another person that they should try taking half a pill? How would I take that? Dissolve in water every morning before breakfast?
    Thanks in advance

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Manisha, If you are experiencing elevated irritability and feelings of anxiousness it could be that the product is a little strong for your system. Especially if your system is “clean”, meaning you are not someone to particularly take medications unless you are very ill and really have to. I had the same problem. Just open the capsule and put half of the contents on a teaspoon with some yogurt or drink it as a powder chased with some water. I haven’t tested myself so not sure if the contents will easily dissolve in water,Taking it as I suggested will ensure that no product is wasted by staying behind in a glass. I would also suggest regular exercise to help keep you feeling relaxed, be it a daily walk/run, yoga, Pilates, whichever appeals to you. I know that when I am feeling particularly aggro for no clear reason it usually boils down to frustration due to excess energy needing to be burned, a good workout session always helps and I feel much better after.

  26. Alice

    Hi Lilly

If I use the secret and lose +- 8 KGs I will be happy. Do I have to continue using the product or can I stop there after? And will I pick up the weight if I stop?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Alice, You can continue the capsules to maintain weight, you would then only take one every second day, but it is not necessary. The only way to gain weight (besides medical/hormonal complications) is to consume more calories than you expend, so if you eat healthy and monitor your junk food intake and stay hydrated, you should not gain any weight back. If you refer to an earlier response in the comments, I had advised on my three rule of thumb questions I ask myself countless times a day. It has been my mantra since losing my 60kg and I haven’t gained any weight back in almost 2 years, I have actually lost an additional 4kg while maintaining through diet (NOT the starve yourself and feel miserable kind) and exercise.

  27. Anne

Hi, I have been on a strict diet and have managed to lose 10kg of weight so far but I have hit a plateau, I would like to loose 5kg more and I am contemplating taking the secret… I am a little skeptical because I do not want to lose any more than 5kg or else I will be underweight. Please advise if it would be okay if I take the tablets 3 times a week instead of everyday of the week in order to make sure I do not loose too much of weight?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Anne, I would rather suggest that you use it every second day as people would for maintenance. As far as being underweight goes, I’m just a little concerned that you want to lose 5kg and any more than 5kg would result in you being under weight, why the compulsion to push it that far? I would suggest you forget about the scale, eat well and focus on building a little muscle. Your body fat percentage has a lot more credibility health-wise as opposed to your weight, which is just your mass in total like muscle, bone, water etc. I want this site to be a safe place to go to for advice, but people are not always going to like my advice. My advice to you is not to push your limits so far. You need to consider that maybe your body has hit a plateau in order to protect itself from more weight loss. Remember healthy over skinny and always listen to your body, it knows what is best for it.

  28. Gemma Neuendorf

I’m from New Zealand and would love to order another bottle. Where can I get it from?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Gemma, just mail me direct and we can make arrangements

  29. Bony

    Hi Lilly

I am on the secret,on my second bottle.
The scale says I am not losing weight while people say I have lost a lot of weight.
How long do you think it will take for me to start seeing changes on the scale?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi there, the scale is not your friend. I can assure you the quantity on that scale means absolutely nothing. Track your centimeters and judge by the fit of your clothing. you want to lose fat, that does not always mean losing weight on the scale. The scale only tells you what your total mass is, it does not take into consideration how much of that mass is fat, bone, water, muscle etc. I usually go by body fat percentage but if you do not have access to a caliper just measure your neck, chest, right arm, waist, hips/bum and right thigh. Rather keep track of centimeters lost. kg lost has no definite benefit to your body composition when compared to fat loss and centimeters.

  30. Jacolien

    Hi Lilly

I started The Secret Fat Burner on 1 July 2017 my weight was 94.4kg. This morning the scale was on 83.1kg… I also tried The Secret Fat Burner Shake but I could not keep it in the taste was awful for me…. My meals consists of salads and steamed vegies and meat…I try hard not to eat fatty foods and a lot of sweets and soft drinks (with a 2 year old girl it’s not that easy)… I need to lose at least another 10kg before 20 September 2017, I am not a big fan of exercising but I walk a lot at work..

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Jacolien, I am so glad to hear about your amazing results! Unfortunately it is not possible to say you will/will not lose your last 10 within your set time limit. Weight loss is tricky, especially when it comes down to those last few kilograms. Usually the closer you get to your goal weight, the slower the pace of loss is. I just want you to be prepared for that and realize that if you do lose at a slower pace, it is nothing you have done wrong. From the looks of things you are doing a great job and I hope that you reach your goal. Keep up the amazing work

  31. Bony

Thank you Lilly, I was take your advice and will update you on my progress.

  32. Anna

    Hi Lilly
At the age of 76 will it be advisable to take this fat burner. I need to loose 10 kg in order to stay healthy and also feel
    good about myself.
I do have high blood pressure but this is controlled by drinking kefir water most of the times instead of my tablets.
    What would you sug gest,
I was thinking of taking the 5 pills for the week and see the results

    Thanks
    Anna

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Anna, I think it is great that you are wanting to take care of yourself. Kefir is very beneficial to your overall health. I would suggest only taking the fat burners for one week first and monitoring your BP closely, taking note of any changes and/or feelings. I’m a little worried about the caffeine content so if at any point you do not feel well or your BP spikes, please discontinue them immediately and be sure to have your meds handy just in case the caffeine does affect you. Just as a safety precaution I do advise that you speak to your GP and prepare for any possible side affects before starting the fat burners.

  33. Louwna Bezuidnehout

Hi Lilly I started the Secret pill a month ago lost 8kg but no I am standing still, I need to loose about another 10 kg, want to know if I take a protein shake instead of a meal will this mybe help

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi there, It’s really tough to just say yes, have a shake instead. It depends on the underlying problem of the plateau. It COULD help using meal replacement shakes, BUT if you are working out or are an active person the problem could also possibly be that you are not consuming enough calories, in which case the shakes will worsen your dilemma as it would be even less calories consumed. Detailed investigation is needed to confirm or dismiss the option. I would suggest trying it and if it works that’s great, if not you will know that you need to investigate your calories consumed vs calories burned. If the deficit is too great it will need adjusting.

  34. Dudu

Hi Lilly how do I place an order and how soon will I receive my package.? I am based in Johannesburg

  35. Xolile

Hi Lilly, Is drinking hot water instead of cold water also fine? I am on day 5 already and expecting good results.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Xolile, Hot water is actually absorbed better than ice water so it will result in better hydration. So in a nutshell, yes hot water is absolutely fine 🙂

  36. Xolile

Hi Lilly, thanks so much, I also have constant headaches every now and then especially at night and I feel light headed and dizzy, I always feel like I can eat sweets as my mouth get so much dry, I believe these are also the side effects too. Also please advise, is alcohol not supposed to be consumed at all while on the pills?

    Thanks

  37. LIZE-MARI

    Hi Lilly,
I really really want to buy this product, but noticed the warning about kidney disease and kidney failure if allergic to Aloe.
I don’t have kidney disease and am not allergic to Aloe, however I was born with only 1 kidney.
Having only one kidney did not hold me back in any way, I participated in sports, had a normal pregnancy etc.
I am a bit worried that the product might damage my kidney.
Please advise if you think it will be safe?
    Thx

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Lize-Mari, It is a tricky question as I am not a medical practitioner and can never replace the advice of your GP. I do not see it doing any harm but I advise that you consult your GP before taking them.

  38. Shanley

Hi there I would like to know should you eat more or less wile taking the secret fat burner and can you take red wine aswell with it?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Shanley, It is not about how much you eat, but rather about what you eat. Do not keep track of the quantities of food you are putting in your body. The only quantity that matters is the quantity of nutrients your body receives. Eat healthy, nutrient dense foods that benefit you. Eating well and taking care of your body is a form of self respect. Respect yourself enough to only fuel your body with foods that will make you feel good about yourself and your food choices.

  39. Shanley

Also can u please advise me should I eat breakfast right after taking the pill or wait? Also can I take more than 3liter? Feel constantly thirsty

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

PS. A glass of red wine every now and then bumps up on antioxidants and has actually proved beneficial to the body. Before or after breakfast is perfectly fine either way, as long as they are taken before 10am. Finally, drink as much water as you need. There are guidelines to water consumption but your body knows what it needs, so drink water when you feel thirsty.

  40. Alison

Hi would like to know if I have to follow a specific diet …I currently am on weighless and using the fat burner for maximum weight loss.

Is this good should I stop ?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Alison, there is no need to follow a specific diet. HOWEVER, if you are taking the fat burners it is clear what the reason for that is. To lose weight and to be healthy, eating right and healthy food habits will never be a waste of time. It will aid you along your journey and it will speed up the process. Stick to your plan, but only if it is sustainable for you. You should never feel hungry or deprived, those feelings lead to binge eating and feelings of guilt and doubt.

  41. Melanie

    Hallo Lilly.
Im on Serdep Antidepressant 50mg. I see they Advise not to take the pills with Anti Depressants. Do you have any testominials of clients drink The Secret wit AD?
    Thank you

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Melanie, This is quite amusing to me as my mother’s name is Melanie and she is on Serdep as well. She has taken them without any side effects or problems. The reason is that one or more of the ingredients could possibly clash with your medication, causing your medication to possibly not work as it should, but as i said,my mum has not had any problems. If you are not certain and need reassurance speak to your GP for peace of mind.

  42. Thabi

    Hi Lilly,

I took the Fat burner for 2 weeks in November last year and I lost 4kg in those 2 weeks and my clothes were getting loose. But for the first 2 days I had nausea and vomiting and it seemed as if everytime I ate an apple I would throw up afterwards. Now I want to take the Fat burner again but I am currently on Glucophage (Metformim) for my Insulin resistance. Is it safe to take with the Fat burner? I really need to lose about 20kg

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Thabi, I would advise that you do not take them until you have consulted your GP. It sounds to me that you might be allergic to one of the ingredients (possibly more than one). Nausea and vomiting is a concern due to malnutrition being a possibility. Health comes before anything else.

  43. Deonne Smith

    hi

I would like to use this product, except I am going to go through some tests soon to donate a kidney to someone in need, will these harm my kidneys in any way that I cant donate, also I am on anxiety medication will this affect my anxiety as well

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Deonne, I Strongly recommend that you discuss this with the surgeon. Personally I would advise that you do not take anything that has not been prescribed to you. Giving someone a kidney is a very big and important life choice and if you have made that choice it is best to keep it as clean and pure as possible. Im sure you know that means no drinking or smoking, eating as healthy as you possibly can and falling in love with water. Giving someone a kidney could save their life. Giving them a kidney polluted with over the counter medications and bad decisions could prove fatal to them. I feel like a big decision like this deserves advice ONLY from a qualified medical practitioner. You are giving a part of your body to someone, that is completely out of my level of expertise and I simply cannot advise anything other than checking and double checking everything you are uncertain about with your surgeon.

  44. Lezelle

    Hi Lilly

I would like to know what is the answer to Xolile, because I experience the same symptoms.

Slight headache and light headed. I’m using the pills for 2 weeks now.

    Thank you

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Lezelle, thirst coupled with headaches and feeling lightheaded could be mild dehydration, as I have said before I am not a medical practitioner and it is best to consult your GP. My advice would be to drink water whenever you are thirsty and have your GP test your blood pressure to confirm if it is low as dehydration can cause low blood pressure.

  45. Nozipho

I’m using Chela Fer iron tablet and also taking Omega 3 soft gels capsules, secret fat burner interfere?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Nozipho, No it should not interfere with your supplementation.

  46. Aletta

Hi Lilly I was on Zytomil anti suppressants, and decided to leave them two weeks ago, because I wanted to take Secret fat burner.I replaced them with 5- HTP. Is it safe to take secret fat burner with 5- HTP.

    Regards,
    Aletta.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Aletta, As long as you have the go ahead from your gp to stop the medication I do not see there being any problems. Your health is most important.

  47. Gerda

    Hi Lilly
I would like to use this product, but i have an under active thyroid problem and are on medication for it. Why cant people with thyroid problems use it?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Gerda, L-carnitine may interfere with thyroid function and cause weight gain instead of weight loss in some people. It is usually a concern that one of the ingredients may hinder the works of your medication. Check with your GP to be certain that the contents of the fat burners will not clash with your medication.

  48. Monique

    Hi Lilly

How do I know if the agent I bought my secret fat burner from does not sell fakes? I bought a 2 week trial pack today so not possible to check the cap, bottom of bottle etc.

    Many thanks in advance

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Monique. Open one of your capsules to check the content. Original product will have white powder with small black particles in it, the counterfeit will have a dusty pink powder with black particles.

  49. Soso

Hi LiLi I’m in East London South Africa and I’ll like to order, thanks.

  50. Ne

    Hi Lilly
I have joined the gym some time ago with the only exercise being cardio as I realized that due to my extremely unfit lifestyle my bpm fluctuates really high. So I’ve been told to exercise until my blood pressure stabilizes so that I can go onto more extreme (but not too extreme) exercises
Will this affect me in any way?

Also I work through night shift – I noticed that the instruction was to take the pills in the morning- is it okay to take this at night first thing when I get up?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

I just need to establish the focal point of the question. You have been exercising and have high blood pressure and would like to know if the fat burners will affect you? Is that correct? Or are you wanting to know if the exercise will effect your BP?

  51. Sandra

HI Lilly, I am eager to try this product but I am a bit concerned as I am on antidepressants and I know that is one of the “dont use if…..” Do you think it would be wise to give it a bash or rather say clear?? Many thanks

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Sandra, the reason they say this is due to evening primrose being known to clash with certain pharmaceuticals. I would say try it as long as your GP is confident it will not hinder your treatment

  52. Ronell

Lilly my BMI is 33.6. I am obese Class 1. I am on Glucophage XR 500g – One per day. I need to loose 30 kilogram.
Will this pill assist in kick starting the proces if I Eat a healthy eating plan with the tablets and medium exercise. I give up hope when i do a diet 100% for a month just to loose 1 or 2 kg a month. My stomach is extremely huge and if i loose weight i loose on my legs, which makes it worse as I then look bigger because my legs get smaller but stomach still stay huge. Will this tablets help for a huge fat stomach?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Ronell, I would like to start with saying that even though you are overweight, it is not necessary to break yourself down the way have in this comment. People make mistakes, those mistakes do not define us, what we do to rectify them are what matters most.
To answer your question, If you are dedicated to the cause then yes, absolutely. I do feel like there are many other factors to consider. Though eating right, exercising regularly and taking supplements are a great start, you would need to look deeper into the matter for this choice to be a sustainable one. I see you mention that you give up hope when seeing results that are not satisfactory but do not consider that results are still results, no matter how small. This is a psychological turmoil and your mindset will keep holding you back until you address it accordingly. A good personal trainer should be able to guide you through the process of breaking such habits. If you want a healthy body, it is of the utmost importance that you have a healthy mindset to accompany your efforts. I hope this helps as a starting point and remember your body weight does not define who you are as a person and whatever you believe about yourself is true, so be kind to yourself, be gentle, be supportive. A journey to yourself needs you to be on board

  53. Riana Coetser

    Hi,
I have lost 3.7kg in my first week and nothing in my 2nd week, can this be because I’m not eating enough?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Riana, there are many factors that can be contributing to this problem, I cannot say that under eating is the culprit as I do not have enough information to make that conclusion. Kindly keep me a one week food diary and mail it to me for investigation.

  54. clarisa

What would a good eating plan look like if you need to loose 20 kg and is taking the pills

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Clarisa, If you do not have any renal problems the most effective diet to lose that much weight is Banting. The diet works great for people who need to lose large amounts of weight at a moderate pace. However once you start to approach your goal weight the diet will become less effective and you would have to start incorporating exercise and good habits to help it along. But it is a great kick-start 😉

  55. Vangie

    Hi.

I haved used around 3 bottles of this product.
It was amazing – I lost 12 kgs in 3 months.

Sadly, I have not maintained the “healthy living” and I have put some weight on.
I want to go back on this product but my fear was the SEVERE severe constipation I suffered.
Any advice on this… besides eating loads of “high fiber foods”.

    Thank you.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

People who are constipated are often told to increase their fiber intake
However, some studies have found that increasing fiber intake can actually make the problem worse.Other studies have found that while dietary fiber can increase the frequency of bowel movements, it doesn’t help with other symptoms of constipation. These include stool consistency, pain, bloating and gas. This is because the type of dietary fiber that you add to your diet is important. There are many different dietary fibers, but in general, they fall into two categories:
      • Insoluble fibers: Found in wheat bran, vegetables and whole grains. They add bulk to your stools and are thought to help them pass more quickly and easily through your digestive system.
      • Soluble fibers: Found in oat bran, barley, nuts, seeds, beans, lentils and peas, as well as some fruits and vegetables. They absorb water and form a gel-like paste, which softens your stools and improves the consistency.
Here are some tips on relief of constipation…

      1. Drink more water
Being dehydrated regularly can make you become constipated. To prevent this, it’s important to drink enough water and stay hydrated
When you’re constipated, you could try finding relief by drinking some sparkling water to help you rehydrate and get things moving again.
Some studies have found sparkling water to be more effective than tap water at relieving constipation but don’t start drinking more carbonated drinks like sugary soda, as they’re a bad choice for your health and may make your constipation worse

      2. Drink coffee, especially caffeinated coffee
For some people, coffee can increase the urge to go to the bathroom. This is because coffee stimulates the muscles in your digestive system.
In fact, one study found that caffeinated coffee can stimulate your gut in the same way that a meal can. This effect is 60% stronger than drinking water and 23% stronger than drinking decaffeinated coffee.
Coffee may also contain small amounts of soluble fibers that help prevent constipation by improving the balance of your gut bacteria.

      3. Take sennacot or any herbal laxative
The herbal laxative Senna is commonly used to relieve constipation. It is available over-the-counter, and can be taken orally or rectally.
Senna contains a number of plant compounds called glycosides, which stimulate the nerves in your gut and speed up your bowel movements.
It’s usually considered safe for adults to use Senna for short periods of time, but you should consult with your doctor if your symptoms don’t go away after a few days. Note that Senna is usually not recommended for people who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have certain health conditions, such as inflammatory bowel disease.

      4. Eat probiotic foods or take probiotic supplements
Probiotics may help prevent constipation. People who have constipation have been shown to have an imbalance of bacteria in their gut.
It’s thought that probiotic foods could help improve this balance and prevent constipation. To include probiotics in your diet, try eating probiotic-containing foods. Examples include yogurt, sauerkraut and kimchi, which contain live, friendly bacteria. Alternatively, you could try a probiotic supplement. It is usually recommended to take it daily for at least 4 weeks to see if it has any beneficial effects.

      5. Eat shirataki noodles or take a glucomannan supplement
Glucomannan is a type of soluble fiber. It has been shown to effectively treat constipation. If you’re constipated, try including more glucomannan in your diet. You can achieve this by taking a glucomannan supplement or by eating shirataki noodles, which are made with glucomannan.

      6. Eat prebiotic foods
Dietary fiber increases stool consistency and bulk, both of which can improve bowel movement frequency. Another way that some fibers may help treat constipation is through their effects on your digestive health. Prebiotic fibers improve digestive health by feeding the friendly bacteria in your gut. This can improve the balance of your gut bacteria. In fact, prebiotics like galacto-oligosaccharides have been shown to help increase the frequency of bowel movements, as well as make stools softer. Foods that are high in prebiotic fiber include garlic, onions and bananas.
      .
      7. Try magnesium citrate
Taking magnesium citrate is a popular home remedy against constipation. It is a type of osmotic laxative that can be bought over-the-counter. Taking moderate amounts of magnesium supplements can help relieve constipation. Higher doses are sometimes used to prep and clean out the bowel before surgery or other medical procedures.

      8. Eat prunes
Prunes and prune juice are often touted as nature’s remedy for constipation – and for good reason. In addition to fiber, prunes contain the natural laxative sorbitol. This is a sugar alcohol that has a laxative effect. Studies have shown that prunes may be more effective than fiber. If you’re constipated, prunes could be the easiest natural solution available. The effective dose is thought to be around 50 grams (about 7 medium-sized prunes) twice a day.
However, you may want to avoid prunes if you have IBS.

      9. Try avoiding dairy
In some circumstances, a dairy intolerance can cause constipation due to its effect on your gut movements. If you think that you may be intolerant to dairy, then you could try removing it from your diet temporarily to see if it improves your symptoms. Just make sure to replace the dairy in your diet with other calcium-rich foods.
I hope this helps, best of luck.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

  58. Nonny

Hi there, I have a 16 year old who is asthmatic and allergic to dairy products. He is overweight and has been struggling with being overweight since they changed his chronic medication at the age of 11. I want to find out if its is safe for him to take The Secret?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Nonny, It should not pose any problems. My boy is asthmatic as well and has not had any complications. Just monitor him closely and if you feel that the product is effecting him negatively, discontinue use and consult your GP for an alternative.

  59. Chanty

    Hi Lilly,

I started taking The Secret on Saturday, 23 Sept. Today, is Wednesday, 27 Sept. When I weighed myself this morning, I had dropped 1.2 kg. My question is: does one have to eat 3 meals a day for this product to work? I am struggling to eat one meal a day on it. And when I do eat the meal, I cannot finish it. I am drinking minimum 2 liters sparkling water per day. Is this okay? Thanks.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Chanty, eat when you are hungry and don’t eat when you are not. As long as you are not starving that’s perfectly fine. Your body will let you know when it needs more energy than you are providing. Sometimes our bodies draw from stored energy and some people have gone as long as 60 days without consuming anything but water. This is of course not healthy for you, but the point is your body knows what it needs and you will know too

  60. Janine

    Hi Lilly,
    Just love your blog.

I am currently using the product and I am losing small amounts. I do relax a bit over weekends with eating healthy and i can definitely see it on my scale after the weekend.

I skip my two days of taking the product during the week (when I am quite good). However, over those two days I seem to be gaining a little bit. I am one of those that weigh myself every day and track my progress. Was just wondering why I would see a gain on the days not drinking the tablets even though I am eating quite healthy?

Also, after having my second baby I started eating according to banting principles and lost about 15kg. I started using the product to help me loose the last stubborn kgs.
I am currently at 70kg and want to loose another 10 kgs.

I eat breakfast banting style most mornings. I then have coffee during the day and for lunch i would have some almonds. Our dinner is very much banting style during the week.
Am I eating too much/ too little? I am not really eating fruit as that is sort of excluded on the banting lifestyle. I would like to lose faster and have been wondering whether i am eating too much. I am really struggling to get below 70kgs.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Janine, best piece of advice I can give you is throw away your scale and this is why. The scale measures your relationship with gravity (which is not a constant either, just like our weight it fluctuates at different parts of the day) The scale merely tells you how much you weigh in total, there is no indication as to how much of that weight is muscle, how much is fat , or bone, or water even. Just drinking a glass of water can make your weight rise on the scale (even more so if your sodium levels are high, causing you to retain water to dilute the sodium in your body), it is not a healthy way to keep track of progress and it demotivates you. As far as I can see, you are doing perfectly fine as far as diet is concerned. Track your progress by the fit of your clothes, or take measurements once a week or even just judge by how you feel or if you have access to a calliper, measure your body fat percentage. These are far more reliable than any scale

  61. Charlese

    Good evening

Why must one take first e days and stop for two. My first week I lost 3kg second week nothing. I haven’t changed my eating or exercise program. I drink two litres of water per day. I am on contraceptive and high blood pressure tablets. I’m not going to stop and see what happens in week three.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

The reason for the break is to ensure that your body does not become used to the ingredients and ends up not working anymore. Think of any chronic medication, your body adjusts to it and in turn your doses become stronger and stronger. To avoid this it’s best to not give your body time to build resistance against the product.

  62. Lee

    Hi Lilly

What is the % of customers that looses the weight and don’t pick it up again after stop drinking the pills?

    Regards,
    L

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Lee, to be honest the percentage varies on whether you eat accordingly after the weight is lost. If you eat badly and do not work to maintain your new body, it will show. Having a healthy body and/or being fit requires constant maintenance, no pill can change that. If you eat good, healthy foods you will keep the weight off without any problems

  63. nikita

hi I am buying the pills tmw and I was on herbex which did nothing for me. I had a baby 1 year ago and still struggling with fat I am 95kg and really want to know if I will drop 4 kg in 10 days as I bought for 10 days and what can I eat?i work on a budget as I am a single mom so food like veg and chicken and fish I can do.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Nikita, let me just start by saying that I admire you, it takes a lot of courage, love and devotion to be a single mother and I know it is very tough. I am proud of you for taking on such a big responsibility all on your own, you are a super heroin. As for diet, I know that budgets can be tight when raising a kid alone. A good start would be to make your plates smaller, eat your meals in a side plate, it creates the illusion of a fuller plate, tricking your brain into satisfaction from less food looking like more. stick to these portion sizes per serving – meat(protein) the size of the palm of your hand (fingers excluded) fats) butter, marge peanut butter etc. no bigger than the tip of your thumb, carbohydrates (rice, potato, pasta etc.) no bigger than the size of your fist. the rest of your plate should be filled with leafy greens and vegetables, the more color, the better. these veggies provide much needed fiber helping you feel satiated and fuller for longer when coupled with good quality protein like chicken or fish for example. stay away from sweets and sugars, if you crave sweet things, have fruit instead (remember fruit has fructose so treat portion sizes as you would with carbohydrates) work on mastering that for now and later on you can move to more advanced dietary decisions. If you are having carbs its best to keep them as close to complex carbs as possible, brown rice, wholewheat pasta, wholewheat bread, potato always with the skin etc.

  64. Mariina

Hi Lilly, I am looking for a dietplan that I can use with the secret fat burner pills…I need to loose about 15kg…thanx Marina

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Marina, I offer personalized meal plans catered to your individual goals, needs and preferences. Kindly email me a request and we can take it from there.

  65. Annemarie

Can the tablets be used if on Eltroxin (Thyroid Tablets)

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Annemarie, I’m afraid that I am not personally familiar with Eltroxin, so in this case it would be best to consult your GP to be sure the ingredients will not clash with your medication.

  66. Bonita

Hi can you suffer from high bloodpressure when you take this tablet: as per your article above (extract):
Evening primrose (Note that these are symptoms of being allergic to evening primrose) – Allergy or sensitivity reactions to evening primrose oil, although rare, have been reported and are as follows – abdominal pain, acidity, acne, altered immune system function, anxiety, belching (burping), bloating, cellulitis (skin infection), cervix ripening, colic, constipation, coughing, cramping, crying/depression, diarrhea, difficulty swallowing, dizziness, eczema, gas/flatulence, gastrointestinal adverse effects, headache, heartburn, indigestion, irregular menstruation, irritability, itchy skin, loose stools, nausea, seizures or lowered seizure threshold, short temper, skin rash, stomach ache, tension, vivid dreams, vomiting, weight gain(* If the product is not aiding your weight loss, consider possible allergy to evening primrose) – should I be concern? when is it too high?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Bonita, the average person’s “normal” blood pressure is 120 over 80, although this can vary from person to person. As they are quite rare. I would not be too concerned about side effects until you experience them. Not taking a chance on something out of fear of what COULD happen is like staying in bed 365 a year in fear of getting struck by lightning. Living in fear is living in your own captivity. If you are concerned, get a trial pack from your agent to test before committing to buying a full supply. It could not work out and you at least tried, or it could work out and end up being one of the greatest decisions you have made. Whether you want to take the leap or not is dependent on you alone.

  67. Helena Jordaan

Hi Lilly. I jave just bought my Secret Tablets. I struggle to loss weigh. I started gym and eating health for about two months now with no results. Will the tables help and what els can I do to speed up the weight loss on my abbs and but.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Helena, there are many things one can do to aid in this goal. Firstly I am certain I do not need to tell you about the importance of water and the crucial role it plays in our bodies. Secondly, the best advice I can give you regarding nutrition is EAT THE RAINBOW. The more color is on your plate, the wider variety of vitamins and minerals you will consume, aiding in many functions of the body, above and beyond weight loss. What are you doing at the gym? Do you stick to cardio? Do you work with weights, if so how are you using them? I need to know your eating habits, your water intake, your weight, your activity levels your workout regime etc. to be able to adjust anything accordingly. If you email me this information, I will be happy to help.

  68. Nozipho

    Hi Lilly

I used the first bottle and didn’t experience any side effect except for a dry mount which goes away when I drink lot of water.
I’m now my second bottle and I am experiencing daily headaches, I’m just concerned since I didn’t have any headaches on my first bottle

Also, will under eating or over eating while on the pill effect the way you loose weight?
Which one will assit in loosing more weight….under eating or over eating?. Example of under eating will be taking a Meal Replacer Shake instead of having a meal

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

I am afraid neither under eating or over eating will aid in weight loss, ever. It’s all about balance, the biggest deficit I would recommend is 600 calories (extreme case). So if your daily calories is 2000 for example to maintain weight, you can go as low as 1400 calories for weight loss and never consume less than 1200 calories per day, that is the absolute minimum. Don’t focus too much on numbers, the quality of foods and the nutrients you provide your body are far more important. Just focus on giving your body good, whole, nutritious quality foods and the rest will catch up.

  69. Ria

    Hi Lilly

I am currently taking the Fat Burner. I just wanted to know if it safe to have tea such as green tea and oolong as well? Considering that the capsule contains the same or similar ingredients as the tea.

    Thanks in advance.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Ria, If your body is not sensitive and has no reaction to the extra caffeine it should not give you any problems. Beware of symptoms like heart palpitations, irritability and sudden onset of fatigue, which are all signs of over stimulation from too much stimulants like caffeine and guarana. Trust your body, it knows what is best

  70. Angie

Hi. I started the secret (just tablets) 3 days ago. I hvnt weighed yet…. too be honest im too chicken. Lol.
Could u recommend a day to day plan that is best suited. I’ve been sticking to a plan but im not sure if its working for me. I hv been drinking at least 2 litres a day of water.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Angie, I am currently testing out a weight loss program for review. It seems to be going very well thus far. If you keep an eye on my blog posts, I will be sharing my full plan and what I ate very soon, along with progress pictures and results.

  71. Aj Visser

Hi I’m on day 3 of the secret. I cut out carbs (as much as I know of) and sugar. First and 2nd day I had nausea and headaches but today I feel fine. I don’t feel different. How would I know if it’s even working… Yes I’m impatient lol

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Good day AJ, It is perfectly normal to feel impatient about things that excite us. Weight loss is an exciting journey and results are a great reward. You will know it is working by keeping an eye on the fit of your clothing. Other than that, if you feel that your appetite is smaller than usual and you do not fall victim to cravings as much, it is most definitely working.

  72. Sands

I have hbp but it’s xontrolled can I take the tablet

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi there, If it is under control it should not be a problem. However as every body is different you need to monitor it closely and should you experience any elevation in your BP, please discontinue use and consult your GP.

  73. Rhona

    Hallo
I am on day 3 and stay very dizzy not really any other side effects. I do have a low blood pressure overall. Can it maybe drop more? Thank you so much for your good advice

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Rhona, Certain medications such as alpha blockers, beta blockers, diuretics, antidepressants, and others can also lead to low blood pressure. Since caffeine is a diuretic and is listed in the pills I would assume that with low blood pressure, it might make you feel dizzy which might be aggravated by your water consumption being too low. When dealing with low blood pressure, it is usually suggested to increase your salt and fluid intake. Before increasing your salt consumption, do check with your GP. Also, cut down on alcoholic beverages and high-carbohydrate foods such as bread, rice, pasta, and potatoes.

The proper treatment for this condition depends on the exact cause, but you can try some simple home remedies to alleviate symptoms while taking the pills.

      Salt Water
Salt water helps treat low blood pressure because the sodium in salt increases blood pressure. Do not overdo this remedy though, as excess salt can prove to be unhealthy. Just mix a half a teaspoon of salt in a glass of water and drink it. You can also drink sports drinks.

      Raisins
Raisins are a traditional Ayurvedic remedy (traditional Indian medicine.) and is considered excellent for treating hypotension naturally.
Soak 30 to 40 raisins in a cup of water overnight.
Eat them in the morning, one at a time, on an empty stomach. You can also drink the water in which the raisins were soaked.

      Beetroot Juice
Raw beetroot juice is helpful in dealing with high as well as low blood pressure. For hypotension, drink a cup of beetroot juice twice daily for about a week.

      Almonds and Milk
This is another traditional home remedy for low blood pressure.
Soak five to six almonds in water overnight.
In the morning, peel off the skin and grind the almonds into a smooth paste.
Finally, boil the paste in a cup of milk. Drink a cup of this every morning.

      Rosemary
Rosemary is believed to be useful in normalizing low blood pressure because it stimulates the central nervous system and improves circulation. Take up to 10 ml of rosemary tincture (a medicine made by dissolving a drug or herb in alcohol) per day. Using this herb fresh like adding it to your foods is also useful. Furthermore, you can simply add three to four drops of rosemary essential oil into a diffuser for aromatherapy benefits.

      Carrot Juice
Starting your day with fresh carrot juice mixed with a little honey is an easy way to treat low blood pressure.
Take a glass of carrot juice.
Mix two tablespoons of honey in it.
Drink it twice daily (on an empty stomach in the morning and in the evening).

      Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is highly effective in treating high blood pressure, but it can also be used for low blood pressure, especially when it is caused by dehydration. In such cases, you can drink some lemon juice mixed with a little salt and sugar. It helps energize your body by stimulating the liver function and aiding in digestion.

Along with these home remedies, get regular, mild exercise to promote blood flow. Avoid vigorous exercise and heavy lifting, though. Also, consult your doctor to check if any of your prescription medications are causing the problem.

  74. Rhona

    Hallo
Wow! Thank you so much. You are an awesome chick. Bless you to sell loads of this amazing tablets. 😉

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

I am so glad I could help and good luck on your very brave journey to a new you x

  75. Lourinda

    Good day

I would like to know, must one continue using the fat burner even after you’ve lost your weight?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

It is completely up to you, but not necessary. If you have some pills leftover and do not want to waste them, just use them for maintaining your weight. For maintenance you take one capsule every second day.

  76. Sen

Hi Lilly. Thank you for all this wonderful information 🙂 I’m on day 3 and I have t had any side effects nor is my hunger that suppressed. Is this normal?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Sen,it would depend. Are you an active person? what type of work do you do? how much do you eat? If you stay hungry these are things we should look into to determine whether you are eating enough to fuel your body

  77. K Jordaan

    Hi there
I turn 18 next year , I have only 15 tablets of the secret fat burner would it work the same as the full amount ? I know I won’t loose as much though
I’m a bit over weight and would like to loose a few pounds ‘lol’

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi there, it will work as intended. You will lose at the same pace but for a shorter period of course as your supply is only 3 weeks’worth

      1. K Jordaan

I have been taking the tablets since the 30 October and I haven’t lost anything?

        1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi there, It is tough to assume a solution without enough information to pinpoint the problem. Many factors could be contributing to stalled weight. Your diet, your activity factor, your sleep hygiene, stress etc. It would need to be investigated properly to be certain of the cause.

  78. Sue

Can we use the secrete fatburner and scultp fat burner at the same time

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Sue, I know patience wears thin when it comes to weight loss but I do not recommend using both products together. I am afraid you will have to pick one. Both are fat burners and both contain ingredients that produce similar results as well as side effects. You do not want to end up making yourself sick, a recovering body needs sustenance and causing any damage could result in gaining weight back that was lost, if not more, due to cravings and hunger from your body demanding fuel to work in healing itself. Slow and steady wins the race, I know slow progress is frustrating but try to remember that it is still progress nonetheless. The whole idea of weight loss is to be healthy, your body is not going to be very healthy if you overload it with weight loss products. Love your body enough to do what is best for it and what nurtures it.

  79. Debbie

    Dear Lily,

Firstly I want to thank you for your honest answers to everyone’s questions! I appreciate that you consider a person’s feelings and situation before responding to it. I also appreciatethe fact that you do actually care, you are not solely concentrated on selling the product.

I have purcahsed a bottle of the fat burner caps, my problem at the moment is that I am a midnight snacker, I literally wake up just to go have a snack, usually it is left overs from supper. Do you think the secret will assist in curbing this nasty habit of mine?

How would you recommend I take the capsules, instructions indicate a 2 day rest period between weeks, do you recommend ththe 2 day rest period during the week or rather on a weekend, when a person tends to eat more (Well I do)

Hope to hear back from you soon.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Debbie, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words, I really do appreciate them. As for the cravings, I did find the capsules helped me significantly with cravings but every body is different. While taking the pills maybe look at healthier, satiating snack options that are nutrient dense. Safer snack options include foods like:
      a banana
      an orange
      2 boiled eggs
      a cup of grapes
      an apple
      1/4 cup blueberries
      cucumber
4 cups of popcorn popped on the stove with as little oil as possible
      5 – 6 strawberries
half a cup of low fat plain/greek yogurt with a teaspoon of honey
1/2 cup of cooked oats with some milk and a teaspoon of honey
      10 – 12 almonds
There are so many safer, healthier options, weigh less mousse with low fat milk is a good one too!

I skipped my two days on Mondays and Tuesdays as the extra help is always needed over weekends when we tend to gorge/binge or indulge, so Mondays and Tuesdays worked best for me.
I really hope this helped and good luck on your venture in becoming an inspiration to yourself and those around you and regardless of your weight, you are enough x

      1. Debbie

Thank you kidnly for the advice, wishing you an abundance of blessings. x

  80. Nthabiseng

    Hi Lily

Thank you so much for being there fore all of us. I have been taking the tablet for 4 weeks now and I have lost 5.5kg. I am very excited about the journey I am taking right now. I would like to know from you, is it still ok to feel very tired and sleepy four weeks later from taking the pill? I sometimes feel jittery and it can be uncomfortable at times. I am thinking of starting to go for 20 minutes walk during my lunch time at work to assist with the weight loss. do you think this will help?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Nthabiseng, walking will most definitely help with weight loss and will eventually give you loads of energy once you are used to it. Be sure to check that you are eating enough, feeling drained and jittery could be an indication that you are not giving your body the energy it needs.

  81. Ayanda Balfour

what form of diet did people who used this product follow?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Ayanda, I have had no reports on specific meal plans. Most people have said to have only made healthier choices. Personally I was on a calorie restricted diet which is not as terrible as it sounds. I was eating a lot, but all foods were healthy and wholesome. proteins and loads of different colored vegetables and wholegrains.

  82. prash

Hi does this product affect the contraceptive pill ?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Prash to my knowledge it has no effects on the function of the pill. HOWEVER, I am sure you know that if you are taking antibiotics or have an upset tummy or are vomiting for any reason whatsoever, sexual intercourse would not be safe. Clinics suggest that you do not rely on the pill for up to two weeks after having an upset tummy or taking antibiotics so it would be best to use alternative protection until it is otherwise safe.

  83. Veer

    Hi Lilly
I know there is a basic instruction to take one skip one day etc
However – from your experience what would be the best way to take it ?

    I’m 26 male and weigh 85kgs – 1.7m tall.
My BMI suggests I am overweight- I’m not that keen on starting with big scary gym machines or a 2km brisk run to start off with until I gain some adaptability to having a fit lifestyle through starting with something minimal for just now

What excercises would you suggest for someone who is a beginner and is extremely unfit

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Veer. The best way to take the product is 5 days on and then a two day break and repeat. one day on and one day off is for maintaining your weight. As for exercise, If you are just wanting to lose weight and get your sense of self back for now, cardio is your best bet. e.g cycling, swimming, rowing and walking (a brisk walk is more effective for weight loss, running is not necessary.) If it feels a little intimidating at first, start working on your habit of exercise. Do this for me, everyday put your running shoes on and walk in your road or on the treadmill (if you have one) just for 60 seconds, that’s it (trust me). Within a few weeks this will be completely habitual and you will find yourself doing more and more as you go on as you have created habit and because you will get used to 60 seconds so quickly you will extend your walking time probably without even realizing it. You’ll be walking kilometers before you know it. Once your habit has been formed we can work from there

      1. Veer

        Hi Lilly
Applause for your friendly and understanding response

I hope you don’t mind one more question
I am currently on the night shift
Starting at 12am most of the time and I’m finding it hard to create a routine to eat

I end up eating junk during working hours
Upon return I eat again and then to bed an hour or less after

Is there anything you suggest for a meal routine as well as how long should I wait to go to bed after having a meal
        Xx

        1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Veer, Firstly I would suggest meal prepping. Prepare your meals for work before hand to avoid the need to splurge on junk food. The cut off for eating before bed is usually around 4 hours as a heavy meal can disrupt sleep, but a healthy light snack can actually improve sleep. Try eating light cheese and crackers or banana or drink a warm glass of milk instead of junk food. Avoid heavy, spicy, or sugary foods. Remember that eating right has nothing to do with motivation, no person on this earth is motivated 365 days a year, it is about discipline and discipline is just like a muscle, the more you exercise it, the stronger it becomes.

  84. Charmaine

Is this product available in the UAE?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Charmaine, unfortunately at the moment it is limited to S.A. I am working on this though and am hoping to find a way to send it to other countries.

  85. Heather

Does anyone have extreme fatigue on this product, since I have been taking it I am permanently tired, no energy benefits for me with the product, I did lose a lot of water and I’m drinking up to 5L a day of water if it is very hot, about 3L on cooler days, no other side effects but just wondering why it makes me so tired if everyone else reports having extra energy. Thank you

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Heather, the product is known to suppress appetite, could it be that you are not eating enough due to this? You need to ensure your body is receiving enough energy to perform your regular functions, I would need to investigate your daily meals to know for sure.

  86. Heather

Thank you Lilly for your reply, I have always eaten breakfast (usually a 2 egg omelet with onion and green pepper filling) and dinner, my dinner portions are now just smaller (usually protein and vegetables), I dont eat any carbohydrates or sugar as a rule as my body does not like them, however I need to loose about 20kgs. Maybe my body just reacts differently, I’m hoping it’s just a form of detox but I am into my 3rd week now of taking them.

  87. Tanja

Hi Lilly, i have read that people who have an overactive or underactive thyroid should not use this product, BUT i have no thyroid and are stable for a few years now, from 2004. Can i use your product. I already bought it, but are wondering. Maybe i can try it and just see how i feel. Im using eltroxin thyroid pill and it doesnt contain the products on your pills example the L-cer something thats in cafeine. Im using it to replace my thyroid but just saying i have no thyroid, can that mean i am like a normal person….?? Please say yes 😁

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Tanja, I suggest you confirm with your GP first, but I don’t see why you couldn’t use the product. However you need to monitor yourself closely, if you feel ill in any way discontinue use and consult your GP immediately.

  88. Dani

Hi there, I purchased this product and used it for the first day. I felt nauseous the whole day. I tried to eat but threw up and I felt light headed and weak. Is this normal? Please advise

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Dani, How is your water consumption? Your symptoms sound like dehydration. Remember that the caffeine content is high and caffeine is a diuretic so you are at risk of dehydration if you do not consume enough water

  89. iona

Hi Lilly. I have been using the product for 3 weeks now. Have seen results though I don’t weigh myself but I can see that I am loosing weight. However I’m extremely easyly irritable by anything! I sweat a lot any movement I do makes me sweat which makes me happy because I never used to the only problem it happens wherever. It suppresses my appetite which is good for me I need that. It gives me a lot of energy I can do anything! Have slight headaches! Feeling weak at times but due to not eating anything, looking angry or fustrated or depressed or too concerned about something when there’s nothing worrying at all! Feeling like shaking I’m not sure if its due to not eating properly! Otherwise I’m loving & am well aware that there will side effects which can be controlled.
I’m expecting more results as I am going strong. Thank you Lilly for all the advice they are needed.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

HI Iona, thank you so much for your feedback. Are you exercising? I feel like your irritability can be controlled by expending excess energy caused by the product.

  90. Annette

Hi Lilly! I am 65 years old, I am on cronic medication for blood pressure and collestrol (very low dossage). I bought the product, taking it for three days now. I bought it by word of mouth because a friend had such good results, but reading the pamflet I see people over 60 and on cronic medication shouldn’t take it! What is your advice for me!

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Annette, If you are fairly healthy and your GP thinks it will be safe, I do not see a problem

  91. Thora

Im on euthyrox for thyroid but dont take them now is it ok to leave them ive lost 5 kg in a week

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Thora, I cannot advise you on prescription medication. I strongly recommend that you consult your GP

  92. Jamian

Hi Lilly I ordered my 2 week trial pack to see if it works for me and will only receive it tomorrow i’m overweight and it is affecting my health, so i’m going to do this trial and hoping and praying its gonna help me lose a few kg’s.

I’ve been reading all the questions and your comments and i appreciate all your feedback and advise. Can you perhaps please post healthy breakfast, lunch and supper options/ideas and i would also like to know do you suggest that we cut out carbs completely or can we have good carbs such as sweet potato, brown rice etc

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Jamian, Kindly keep an eye on my blog posts as I will be releasing a weight loss package soon which includes meal plan, supplementation and work outs

  93. Ashley

Hi, do u gain even more weight when you stop using the tablets?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

That would depend entirely on you, health needs constant maintenance. If you eat incorrectly and do not work to maintain, you will of course gain weight

  94. Jetal

Good day tomorrow will be my first day using this product I currently have the flu and taking flu meds should I wait till I’m better or is it safe to use together ?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Jetal. Although it will not cause any harm to take it now, I would suggest waiting as it cannot be pleasant to experience detox symptoms when you are already feeling under the weather

  95. Ilse Van Der Merwe

    hi Lilly

firstly i must say I love your answers they arw full of compassion and wisdom.

I used 2 weeks of pills and lost 3kgs.

the downside is o felt out of breath the whole time and couldt go to gym as it felt I was going to have a heart attack, could that be an allergic reaction to one off the ingredients

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

It sounds to me like the caffeine content is a bit much for you, Have you been diagnosed with anxiety or depression by any chance? I have anxiety and caffeine or energy drinks sometimes cause heart palpitations which lead into panic attacks.

  96. louie

    Hi.

Im currently doing the Banting lifestyle. can i take the secret fat burner while doing this diet?

    Kind regards.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Louie, Absolutely! Providing you have 10 or more kilograms to lose. I find that banting is most effective for people who have large amounts of weight to lose. The process is much slower for someone with a smaller frame.

  97. Ilda

Hi Lol it my sister had been using the product and she is happy with the results as she had lost 10 kgs already.
I’m a breastfeeding mom of a3 months baby I’m frustrated because I’m no longer losing but gaining and every time I cut on food I run out of milk.
I’m not yet exercising due to my c section. Will only start now.
Is there anything available to help me lose at least 6kegs I’m currently with 76

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Ilda, Once you start to exercise, make healthy choices as far as possible(which is good for baby too as he/she receives nutrients through your breast milk) and drink lots of water you should lose that baby weight in no time. Are you using the fat burners at the moment? as I would not recommend it while you are breastfeeding. At the end of the day the most important factor to losing weight is that your calories consumed are in a deficit to your calories burned. If you can master this you can easily lose weight without even exercising (although exercise CAN contribute to weight loss and improves your overall health and life and tightens up looser areas, it is still possible to lose weight without exercise.) Remember that the best diet is the one you do not even know you are on, I would highly recommend that you just eat better, not less.

  98. Jacqui

    Hi Lilly

I am 46 need to loose a substantial amount of weight, like 40kg suffer from high bp can i take the secret fan burner

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Although I strongly recommend that you get the go ahead from your GP first,I would suggest a trial pack to test the waters, Monitor your BP closely while taking them and if you feel ill or strange in any way, discontinue use immediately.

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Good day Amelia, Your local agent might have trial packs made up although not all agents provide this service. If you do not manage, kindly email me direct and I can courier a trial pack to you, the trial packs come in 1 week and 2 week supplies, but I only provide 2 week trial packs.

  102. louie

hi lilly. please advice if we can use glucophage with the secret fat burner. my dr does not mind if i leave it as i was only using it to help loose weight, but im scared if affects the results of the secret fat burner.

  103. Anton

Good morning. I am a 52 year old male and I have been using The Secret for 3 months now. I have lost 16kg thus far. I do have one problem though, and that is sleeping. I used to sleep like a baby but since I started using this product, that changed completely. Is there something I could do to get a good nights sleep?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Anton, are you taking the product before 10am? It has quite a bit of stimulants like caffeine and guarana. Your body might need some more time to use up all the energy, try taking it earlier and see how that goes.

  104. Natalie

I’ve heard so many myths! I have a bottle but is so scared to start!
The one that conserns me is, I heard the tablet increases your matabolism while drinking it, but as soon as you stop your metabolism slows down even more than before due to thyroid that gets overstimulated. Then you start gaining and your wight problems gets even worse. Is this true?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Natalie, the metabolic process is natural whether you take the tablets or not. Your metabolism speeds up in metabolic response, so when you eat, when you drink caloric drinks etc. Once it has no more work to do, it slows down again. Unless you are taking the capsules other than the recommended directions and do not starve yourself, it should not pose any problems.

  105. Tam

Good day, is it safe to take 2 tablets in the morning for extremely fast weight loss?

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Hi Tam, I would not recommend this at all, taking more of the product than recommended will not speed up the process and remember too much of a good thing can be bad. It is possible to overdose, even on natural supplements. You could end up doing more harm than good. Be patient and trust the process, all good things come to those who wait. take them as you should, fuel your body with nutrient rich foods and stay active, this is the only sustainable formula in the long run.

  106. Xolly

Hi what are the dangers of taking the secret fat burner when breastfeeding

    1. Lilly Bezuidenhout

Everything you consume, your baby consumes. It is not a good for a baby to have fat burners, they are still growing.
